Joel Kampf Bio
I wear a few hats from living a diverse life. I grew up in Hollywood on the periphery of the film business - worked in studios during high school, earned a degree in film, worked on movies, for producers and for a personal management and PR firm… and then I needed a change. A year later, I found myself teaching elementary school on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in Lame Deer, Montana… culturally shocked, down to my socks.
As a city kid, I went on to spend thirty years in rural Montana. After teaching fifteen years, I first utilized the internet to become a self-taught direct response copywriter. Through many a project and collaborations, I learned the ins and outs of brand strategy… which led me to cultural change work when it became apparent that brand and culture were the same thing. Being armed with years of experience and a desire for something more, I moved to Seattle, one of the most dynamic business hubs in the world… where I met my wife.
Years ago, after having a conversation with a friend on the phone, my wife, who is a highly skilled Executive/Leadership coach and therapist, told me that I was naturally acting as a coach on the phone and I should become certified. So I did.
Today, I need to do good work - work that helps others…. and I use the connective tissue of everything I do to make it so. If I had to pick one quality of mine that serves me the most, it’s that life is not a dress rehearsal and we only have one shot at it so I’m going squeeze the juice out of every day and help others to do the same. Hopefully, it’s contagious.
